Plant medicine Pest Control by Biological Control NPUST combined Departments of Plant Medicine, Forestry, Biomechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Industry, and Hakka. By the use of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology to detect the field pests and diseases; after the discovery, the use of natural biological balance is taken to achieve the purpose of prevention and control; that is, the use of natural enemies, predatory insects, parasitic insects and insecticidal microorganisms, antagonistic microorganisms, sex pheromones and other biological methods.
Circular Economy of Agriculture Wastes Plant residues of the production and processing are the main sources for agricultural wastes. There are about 2.2 million tons of agricultural waste each year in Taiwan and most of them are treated by incineration.
Ecology and Hazard Mitigation Disaster Prevention and Potential Evaluation NPUST has built an interdisciplinary research team--integrating management of information systems, forestry, plant medicine, plant industry, etc. -- to solve the problems such as soil loss and early-warning system for natural disasters by using big data, and to strengthen the school’s international demonstration area of soil and water conservation.
