O-TA Precision Industry Co., Ltd. has donated 5 carbon fiber bicycles and NT$ 600,000 to National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) to be use for educational development. A ceremony was held on December 30th, 2022 to recognize the donation, with NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang, O-TA chairman Kung-Wen Li and a many university representatives present to witness the occasion.

Following several years of set-backs due Covid restrictions, the University Network for Tropical Agriculture (UNTA) has resumed business as usual. This year, the annual members’ meeting was hosted in Thailand on December 6th by founding-member, Maejo University. At the gathering, representatives of 12 member universities in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Taiwan addressed the theme of “Driving Economy for BCG Model: A Road to Sustainable Growth in High Value Products and Smart Agriculture”.

On December 12th, the NPUST Indonesian Student Association put on the “2022 Wonderful Indonesia Culture Festival” at the university’s Shuyun Hall. The event was kicked off by NPUST vice-president Shang-Ming Ma, International College dean J.C. Leong, OIA chief of education, Ian Chang, OIA chief of cooperation, Chun-Yi Lee and other university representatives. Adding to the prestige of it all, Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mr. Sandiaga Uno, made a special video to send his blessings to the organizers and participants.

Kuozui Motors has donated a Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid to the NPUST Department of Vehicle Engineering to be used for education, practical learning, and research. The donation will add to the university’s teaching resources and give students an opportunity to get closer to the industry. On December 14th (2022), a ceremony was held to present the car to the school, with Kuozui Motors’ assistant manager, Shih-Jung Ho, and NPUST president, Chin-Lung Chang, present to mark the occasion.
